The Clerics Regular Minor Celebrate Their Jubilee in Rome During the Holy Year

In an atmosphere of deep prayer, joy, and fraternity, the Clerics Regular Minor (Adorno Fathers) celebrated their Caracciolini Jubilee in Rome on Saturday, October 18, as part of the Universal Jubilee Year of the Catholic Church. The event marked a historic day of spiritual renewal and international communion for the Adorno Family, gathering religious, lay members, and friends from all over the world.

A Pilgrimage of Faith and Fraternity

Guided by Rev. Fr. Theodoro Kalaw, Superior General, and Rev. Fr. Fernando Olivieri, Vicar General, the pilgrimage brought together numerous Adorno priests and religious from Italy, the United States, India, Africa, and other countries where the Order is present. Members of the Lay Associations of St. Francis Caracciolo, along with many religious friends and faithful, also joined the celebration.

The day began at Piazza Pia, near Castel Sant’Angelo, where the Pilgrim’s Cross was solemnly received by the Superior General and carried in procession toward St. Peter’s Basilica. Accompanied by hymns, prayers, and moments of silence, the procession reflected the deep spirit of unity and shared mission that characterizes the Adorno charism.

Upon crossing the Holy Door, participants experienced a profound moment of reflection and prayer, concluding the first part of the Jubilee with the final blessing at the Altar of St. Peter inside the Vatican Basilica.

The Jubilee Mass at St. Anne’s Parish, Vatican City

The group then moved to St. Anne’s Parish in the Vatican, where the Jubilee Mass was celebrated by Fr. Theodoro Kalaw, Superior General, and concelebrated by Fr. Fernando Olivieri, Vicar General; Fr. Francesco Iannamico, Delegate Superior of the St. Francis Caracciolo Delegation; Fr. Liam Reza, Delegate Superior of the St. Michael the Archangel Delegation; and all Adorno priests present.

During his homily on Luke 10:2 — “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”, Fr. Kalaw reflected that the Jubilee is “a sacred time of grace and renewal,” a spiritual return to the Lord with gratitude, humility, and hope.

“Like St. Luke,” he said, “we are called to be instruments of healing and mercy. Our vocation is not to administer perfection, but to accompany the wounded, to walk beside those who suffer.”

He invited his confreres to rediscover “the freshness and joy of Adorno life,” reminding them that the Order’s strength lies “not in individual success but in lived fraternity.” Echoing the Chapter theme ‘To Walk Humbly with the Lord,’he encouraged all to live the Jubilee mission as witnesses of mercy, fraternity, and Gospel joy.

Final Ceremony at Sant’Angelo in Pescheria

After the Eucharistic celebration, the group proceeded to the Church of Sant’Angelo in Pescheria, the historic Roman seat of the Adorno Fathers, for the concluding ceremony of the Jubilee.
In this sacred and historic site, the participants joined in a moment of thanksgiving and renewed consecration, expressing gratitude for their shared journey.

The church, located in the heart of the Campitelli district among the ancient ruins of the Portico d’Ottavia, dates back to the 7th century. It owes its name to its proximity to the old fish market (“in pescheria”).
Since the 17th century, it has been entrusted to the Clerics Regular Minor (Adorno Fathers), who have made it a center of spiritual life, culture, and charity in the city of Rome.

Presided over by the Vicar General, the final ceremony was a gesture of continuity and thanksgiving, highlighting that the Jubilee is not an ending but a new beginning of mission and service.

A Moment of Fraternal Communion

The day concluded at the Generalate of the Adorno Fathers, where the participants shared a joyful moment of fraternity during the Agape meal.
This gathering beautifully expressed the family spirit and unity that bind the Adorno Fathers and their lay collaborators around the world, sealing a day of profound ecclesial and spiritual celebration.

“Our Jubilee,” Fr. Kalaw concluded, “is not the end of an event, but the beginning of a renewed mission. Let us continue walking humbly together, bringing the light of Christ to the places where love is most needed.”

Through this celebration, the Adorno Fathers publicly renewed their commitment to live the charism of St. Francis Caracciolo — adoration and service — at the heart of the Church, united in the joy of belonging to Christ and in the hope of a world renewed by mercy.
