The Adorno Fathers celebrate 300 years of service in Anagni
Last weekend, the community of Anagni celebrated a milestone: 300 years of continuous service by the Adorno Fathers in the city. Inspired by the life and mission of St. Francis Caracciolo, the Order has played a key role in the spiritual and social life of the area. The Jubilee marks the beginning of a year filled with events that celebrate both the history and the future of the Order.
The festivities began on Friday, October 11, with a special program for the youth. Children from the catechism classes had the opportunity to meet Nicola Caracciolo, a direct descendant of the founder, who shared stories about St. Francis in an engaging and accessible way. Later in the evening, the community gathered in Piazza Dante for a joyful feast, with three renowned local restaurants offering a taste of Anagni’s culinary traditions. Live music by Alessandro Viti and Max Stefano created a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
On Saturday, October 12, Anagni’s Sala della Ragione hosted a conference on the history of the parish of San Giovanni de Duce and the global mission of the Adorno Fathers. Speakers such as Fr. Pierpaolo Ottone and Professor Tommaso Cecilia provided historical and spiritual insights, with the parish priest, Fr. Florent Kasai, moderating the discussion.
The celebrations culminated on Sunday, October 13, with a solemn Mass at San Giovanni de Duce, presided over by Bishop Ambrogio Spreafico of Anagni-Alatri. The liturgy brought together the community in a moment of gratitude for 300 years of dedicated service by the Adorno Fathers, who have tirelessly supported the poor and contributed to educational and pastoral missions both locally and abroad.
This Jubilee is just the beginning. Throughout the year, a variety of events and initiatives will continue to celebrate the rich spiritual heritage of the Order. For more information about upcoming activities, you can visit the parish Facebook page or contact the parish priest directly.
